Rio das Ostras - 3rd largest population of the upper class in Rio de Janeiro State

Below is my translation of an article written by Angel Morote which appeared on the Rio das Ostras Jornal site.

Rio das Ostras has the third largest percentage of upper class (class "A") inhabitants in the state [of Rio de Janeiro].

Among those who fit the class "A" category, Rio das Ostras is third only to Niteroi and Rio de Janeiro.
Migration from the capital in the interior is one of the contributing factors.

Rio das ostras is considered the city with the third highest concentration of people with high social status in the state, 12% of the population has an above average quality of life. The result is general inflation, as stated by a poll released by the Getulio Vargas Foundation this week. Some of the reasons city residents migrate to the coast are to escape the traffic and violence of the capital.

The people who are migrating from the big cities require more sophisticated services. A beauty clinic which hopes to serve the class "A" and "B" has invested in creating a well decorated space. The services cost R$60 to R$100, which clients pay without complaint. According to one historian, the trend of class "A" is to raise the price on all types of service.
