Learn to Speak Portuguese - Private Classes With Rosangela

My strong suggestion is that you learn at least a little bit of Portuguese before you arrive in Brazil. Most communities in the US have adult education classes available, which you can find with some Google time. Take a class, and carry a small dictionary. Having my little dictionary in my purse has been handy at the grocery store, for example the time I forgot how to say "hamburger" (carne moida).

Once you are here, keep taking classes. Not only will you find it easier to navigate your new world, your instructor can give you an invaluable window into Brazilian culture.

Meet Rosangela.
She is our Portuguese teacher, and our very good friend.

She is a native Brazilian who lived in the United States for more than ten years before returning to raise her daughter among family. She speaks fluent English and has years of experience as both an English and Portuguese teacher. She is available most weekends and evenings and can be reached at rose-pocahontas@hotmail.com

Classes are held locally in Rio das ostras. Give her a shout to schedule yours. You'll love her!
