Cost: R$30 per month for unlimited classes
How to: Sign up at the front desk of the Casa de Cultura. You will be given a tour of the workshop areas and meet any instructors who happen to be on campus at the time. Jorge Pinheiro is usually on hand and speaks enough English to help you get started.
Pintura em tela (painting on canvas) - Mondays and Thursdays 9am to 11am, or Mondays 1pm to 5pm.
Pintura em telha (painting on tile) - Wednesdays 9am to 11am.
Desenho Manga (Manga drawing) - Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am to 11am, 1:30pm to 3:30pm and 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
Mosaico (mosaic tile) - Tuesdays 2pm to 5pm (minimum 5 students)
Decoupage - Mondays and Wednesdays 9am to 11am (minimum 5 students)
Pintura em tecido (fabric painting) - Fridays 1pm to 5pm
Classes are taught in Portuguese, but they are very hands-on. I have met several of the instructors and all are friendly, helpful, and hopeful to add a few "estrangeiros" to their classes!
