By far this is Rio das Ostras' most famous beach.
Five major attractions are located along this beach; Lagoa de Iriry, Tocolândia, Praça da Baleia, the Tourist Pier, and the Mirante de Costazul (the Lookout), these last two giving a spectacular view of the beach and ocean.
Many pousadas and holiday homes are near the beach in the neighborhood of the same name, and there are tons of kiosks, restaurants and bars to choose from.
Body boarding and surfing are popular here, and the regional championships are a major event for the area.
Public exercise equipment is well maintained and available for everyone, and there are several nice children's playgrounds. The paved and wooded walk ways are in great shape, we often enjoy a long walk along the beach and through the neighborhoods nearby.

The pier is open to the public and gives you a fantastic view of the area. It is currently undergoing improvements. Due to strong waves and undertow, the anchorage of the site is being enhanced to provide more security to the population.
